Azure Monitor is an Azure service that offers a central method for organizations to watch performance metrics and event logging that occurs across Azure services and their Azure resources and respond to them. Monitor can perform actions, including sending multiple types of alerts, based on what it discovers.

Service Overview

Monitor is built into Azure to help organizations watch for events and performance changes that could require an action to be taken or a notification to be sent.

Two types of information can be gathered through Monitor:

  • Metrics, which provide indicators of near real-time performance
  • Logs, which store informational, diagnostic, error, and
