The Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) bundles three Microsoft-hosted services for managing identities, devices, applications, and information. EMS includes User Subscription Licenses for Azure Active Directory (AAD) Premium, Microsoft Intune, and Azure Rights Management (Azure RM). It offers technical advantages over Microsoft’s on-premises management software and over subsets of each of the services included in Office 365. It also offers a significant discount over purchasing its three component services separately. However, it requires significant planning and work to integrate AAD with an organization’s directory and to benefit from each of the services.

EMS Fundamentals

EMS offers a bundle of three Microsoft-hosted management services, each licensed as a subscription assigned to a single user and covering up to five devices for that user.

Directory, Management, and Portable Content Protection

Three services are included in EMS:

  • AAD Premium is a scalable, multitenant directory service
