  • The features of Intune Suite and Intune Plan 2 are being split across—and bundled into—Microsoft 365 E5 and E3; but both Intune offerings will remain available for license.
  • This change could help soften the blow of the July 2026 US$3 per user, per month Microsoft 365 price hikes and save new customers from also needing to buy the Intune Suite.
  • Customers should expect these Intune features to arrive for licensed Microsoft 365 users prior to July 2026, when prices will increase.

The features of the premium Intune Suite and Intune Plan 2 are being “unbundled” from their expensive standalone licensing. Commercial Microsoft 365 E3 licenses will gain some features, and Microsoft 365 E5 licenses will add them all. This change enhances the features of E3 a small amount and E5 significantly. GCC customers (G3/G5) now receive most of these benefits as well, with GCC High customers receiving them late in 2026. Unfortunately there is no clear availability plan today for academic customers (A3/A5) or DoD GCC customers to receive these features. It appears that the Intune Suite and Intune Plan 2 remain available for license as some scenarios will still require them, and these features will not be added to either Microsoft 365 F3 or F1 Frontline worker suites or any Office 365 or Business Premium suites. (This creates limited licensing risk when commingling Microsoft 365 tiers as most Intune Suite features offered limited value in Frontline user scenarios, and Intune also offered user-gated license enforcement of these features, which is expected to continue.) Customers do not have to make any changes for users to receive these Intune features; they are being gradually enabled automatically for properly licensed users.
