Dynamics NAV will gain a Dynamics CRM connector and drop an older user interface technology in its next version, according to a Feb. 2010 Statement of Direction for the product. Dynamics NAV is Microsoft’s most widely deployed enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for small and medium businesses and is the basis of many vertical business management applications from partners.

Update to the NAV Roadmap

The latest Statement of Direction reiterates plans for Dynamics NAV 7, the code name for the next product version, which is to deliver enhancements for finance, sales and marketing, customer service, and project management; improvements for manufacturing and distribution firms; a SharePoint client for browser users; and business intelligence features that exploit upcoming versions of Office, SharePoint Server, and SQL Server.
