Purview offers an increasing number of PAYG services.

Almost all of these services are PAYG only when used with non-Microsoft systems.

Cost management of Purview PAYG is challenging and requires a dedicated effort.

Initially defined as a range of compliance-related features for Microsoft 365, Purview services have expanded to include components used to manage compliance of non-Microsoft data and AI-related systems. These additional services use their own complicated Azure-like meters to calculate pay-as-you-go (PAYG) monthly costs rather than the more approachable per-user licensing typical of Microsoft 365.
