Host Integration Server Timeline

Host Integration Server (HIS) 2020 is the latest version. HIS software offers mainframe and midrange integration with applications on the Microsoft platform. HIS 2020 supports recent versions of IBM and Microsoft software, including Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, SQL Server 2022, and Visual Studio 2022. It also delivers installation and configuration improvements (such as remote PowerShell configuration support) and accessibility improvements in the user interfaces for some tools. HIS has added support for a range of newer IBM platforms, including z/OS 2.3/2.2, i-Series 7.x, MQ-series 9.x, DB2, and CICS 5.x. 

Mainframe integration capabilities have begun to appear in the Azure Logic Apps hosted integration service, which is gradually replacing BizTalk Server. For example, an IBM 3270 terminal connector is available.

Rights to HIS 2020 are included in BizTalk Server 2020: Customers purchase BizTalk Server licenses and download HIS installation images separately.
