Azure IoT services and software monitor and control IoT devices, such as sensors, equipment controllers, and telemetry components, at large scale. The services can speed development and deployment of applications for tasks such as fleet management, predictive maintenance of equipment, or monitoring and control for smart buildings, manufacturing plants, oil platforms, and hospitals, and similar environments within organizations that require large numbers of intelligent devices

IoT Operations
Service Overview
IoT Operations, announced in Nov. 2023 and currently in preview, aims to simplify the development, deployment, and management of devices connected to edge compute servers. (Edge computing refers to compute resources physically located outside of Microsoft’s Azure cloud, such as within manufacturing plants.) IoT Operations is composed of a number of edge services, with management and development capabilities within Azure.
