Azure Monitor offers a central platform for organizations to gather, analyze, and act on monitoring data from Azure and non-Azure resources. Tools and APIs offered with Monitor help inform administrators and developers about resource performance to make operational decisions, diagnose problems, and improve code.

Recent Monitor features show Microsoft’s focus on making Azure Monitor easier to adopt and operate, and they bring stronger support for Kubernetes and open-source tooling and higher-level service-health insight:

Pipeline transformations simplify modifying telemetry data before it’s ingested into Monitor

Grafana dashboards, which provide extensive metrics visualization, can be created and edited within Monitor; there are numerous prebuilt Grafana dashboards for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and other Azure services

OpenTelemetry monitoring, including metrics and visualizations, is supported
