Organizations must monitor end-of-support dates for Windows client OS versions to ensure deployment of a supported version. Be aware: Microsoft frequently changes the Windows client OS release and support policies. There is no assurance that the current policy will continue to remain in effect.

Windows 11 version 23H2, which became generally available in Oct. 2023, is the most recent supported version of the Windows client OS.

Windows 11

Windows 11 version 23H2 (a Feature Update) became generally available in Oct. 2023. Windows 11 versions are made generally available once per year—in the second half of the year—through the General Availability Channel (GAC). Windows 11 Enterprise and Education versions released via the GAC are supported for 36 months.

Unscheduled updates, which Microsoft refers to as either “experience” or “moment” updates, occur at Microsoft’s discretion. These unscheduled updates can generally be deferred until the next annual version or Feature Update becomes generally available using tools such as Windows Update for Business.
