RoadmapAzure Government
Azure Government delivers Azure cloud services with isolation, security, and standards certification that aren’t offered on the public Azure cloud (commercial Azure). This offering can help eligible U.S. government agencies and their partners deploy cloud-based solutions. However, some services available in commercial Azure aren’t yet available in Azure Government, and the arrival of Azure services in Azure Government isn’t entirely predictable or assured.

Near-Term Roadmap (2026–2027)
Recent improvements to Azure Government include the following:
- The OpenAI GPT 5.2 LLM, a deep reasoning model, is available in Azure Government Secret and Top Secret clouds.
- Azure Confidential Computing VMs are generally available in all Azure Government clouds; the feature encrypts data that’s in use while in memory to improve security.
Long-Term Roadmap (Beyond 2027)
Commercial Azure services that aren’t yet available in Azure Government might become available in one or more of the Azure Government clouds as Microsoft gets them certified to meet required regulations. However, the arrival of Azure services in Azure Government isn’t entirely predictable or assured.
