Azure Logic Apps hosts workflows and offers workflow development, deployment, and management for application integration. For example, a Logic Apps workflow might integrate a bulk e-mail service and a customer relationship management (CRM) service to capture sales leads from e-mail responses. Logic Apps can provide a hub for integration of multiple applications and cloud services within an organization or between the organization and its partners, consolidating integration on a single platform and Microsoft-managed infrastructure.

Logic Apps is also Microsoft’s recommended replacement for the BizTalk Server software, which is slated for retirement.

Product: Logic Apps

Near Term (2026–2027)

The Logic Apps team announced near-term plans and a set of public previews in June 2026:

AI assistance. Developers will be able to generate workflow code from natural language prompts they submit in natural language. For example, a developer can use a prompt to generate an initial skeleton of a workflow and later configure specific steps. AI assistance could speed development by experienced developers, but it could also make Logic Apps more accessible to what Microsoft calls “makers,” who are experts on an organization’s business processes with limited coding experience.
