Major developments for Microsoft’s business applications roadmap since the June 2013 Enterprise Software Roadmap include the following:

  • Office 365 and the individual Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Lync Online services are being upgraded to Exchange 2013, Lync 2013, and SharePoint 2013 for existing customers.
  • SP2 shipped for Office, SharePoint, and related applications in July 2013.
  • Office mobile apps for Office 365 subscribers shipped for Android smartphones, iPhones, and iPod Touches in the middle of 2013.
  • Microsoft announced Power BI for Office 365, a new cloud-only business intelligence offering, with licensing and packaging to be announced later in 2013.
  • Free Lync tablet and smartphone apps for iOS and Android arrived in the platforms’ respective app stores.
  • Lync Server, Lync Online, and Lync 2013 desktop client updates in July 2013 delivered improvements for conferencing, scheduling, and other functions.
  • The Lync Windows Store app received updates
