Major changes in Microsoft’s systems management, security, and identity management roadmap since the Sept. 2011 Enterprise Software Roadmap include the following:

New versions of all products in the System Center line were expected in late 2011 but have been delayed until the first half of 2012; all products in System Center 2012 are now available as betas or release candidates.
A release candidate of Virtual Machine Manager 2012 became available in Sept. 2011.
A beta of Data Protection Manager was released in Sept. 2011.
Release candidates of Configuration Manager 2012 and Orchestrator 2012 and betas of App Controller 2012 and Service Manager 2012 appeared in Oct. 2011.
Reporting Manager 2006 (which has been replaced by Service Manager) left Mainstream support in Oct. 2011.
The Desktop Optimization Pack 2011 R2 was released in Aug. 2011 with a new BitLocker management tool and updates to Asset Inventory Service and the Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset.
