The Azure Static Web Apps service hosts Web sites that do not require server-side page generation. Thus, there is a potential reduction of cost and management overhead for organizations that deploy static Web apps instead of traditional (server-generated) Web applications.

Near Term (2025–2026)
Recent introductions that are in preview but have yet to reach general availability include:
- Traffic Splitting, which allows developers to split resource requests across multiple environments and specify how much traffic each should receive. Traffic splitting can help with gradual rollout of new content as well as A/B testing.
- Snippets allow sections of code to be injected into a page without the developer having to modify the content. Uses for snippets include inserting content that is common across an entire site, such as analytics scripts or global UI elements.
