GitHub is moving toward a so-called agentic approach, where AI agents work together, often in the background, to assist users continuously rather than only when invoked. Announced agents that work via GitHub Copilot include the following:

  • Code review, which provides AI-generated feedback to developers as they write code or create pull requests
  • Workspaces for pull requests, which are persistent working areas where
