The Windows SBS Console provides a single point for the administrator to check the status of the server and perform maintenance tasks. The console is divided into three key areas: a row of tabs across the top that group related information and tasks, a task pane that displays tasks related to the selected tab, and a summary area with information about the selected tab’s status. Shown is the post-installation view of the Home tab, which includes the Getting Started tasks and the overall summary of the server’s network health. Other tabs include the following:
- Users and Groups, for managing users, user roles, and groups, including adding new users
- Network, for managing computers, devices (including printers and fax), and network connections
- Shared Folders and Web Sites, for managing Windows shares and Web sites, including locally hosted Windows SharePoint Services collaboration sites and remote and Office Live Small Business Web sites
- Backup and Server Storage, for managing
