RoadmapAzure DevOps Services Roadmap
Azure DevOps Services is a set of Microsoft-hosted software development services for hosting source code, automating processes (such as building and testing applications), and team collaboration.
Product: Azure DevOps Services
Licensing: Azure DevOps Services
Near-Term Roadmap (2026-2027)
Minor updates continue to arrive, mostly to address customer feedback. For example, Boards has received tweaks to filtering views of sprint boards and backlogs; and views of large Pipelines can be more easily navigated.
Near-term plans for DevOps are minimal as Microsoft focuses on GitHub, and customers should not expect major changes to the service. However, according to Microsoft, there is little short-term risk of Azure DevOps becoming deprecated or discontinued in favor of GitHub.
Long Term Roadmap (Beyond 2027)
Azure DevOps Services is expected to be supplanted by GitHub, although Azure DevOps Services will likely remain fully supported and continue to receive minor updates for several years. Migration tools and guidance are available to move from Azure DevOps Services to GitHub, a task that can be time-consuming and costly for organizations with larger codebases and development teams.
