  • Soon-to-be-retired Ratings and Reviews, and Recommendations features, will create functional gaps with no announced replacements.
  • Replacement options will likely be agentic AI features with more flexibility but also higher costs.

Microsoft recently announced that two Dynamics 365 Commerce features, Commerce Ratings and Reviews and Commerce Recommendations, are no longer available for purchase and will be discontinued soon. Although there are no announced replacements, both features are based on older machine-learning capabilities, and Microsoft is actively replacing older technology with new agentic AI capabilities across the Dynamics 365 product line.

Agentic AI capabilities in other Dynamics 365 applications are more flexible, can be more easily customized, and tend to perform better than older technology, but they also come with higher costs via Copilot Credits, which have consumption rates that are difficult to predict.

Directions Recommends

Customers should stop any development or rollout plans for the features and watch for the replacement options, likely to arrive later in 2026.
