Researcher accelerates knowledge work but doesn’t produce final products. Embedded within M365 Copilot, it delivers structured, citation-backed reports by leveraging Microsoft 365 and Web content. Although it cuts time for first-draft market and competitive analyses, expert review and source validation remain essential. Unlike M365 Copilot’s general tools, Researcher added new capabilities for decision-support scenarios where dual-model perspectives help minimize bias risk. Governance and transparency, however, are still limited.
