Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, formerly known as Office 365 ProPlus, is a suite of Office applications licensed on a Per-User subscription basis. For Windows PCs, Microsoft 365 Apps suite includes the following applications:

  • Word (document creation)

  • Excel (spreadsheet)

  • PowerPoint (presentation)

  • OneNote (note-taking and collaboration)

  • Outlook (e-mail, calendar, tasks, and contacts)

  • Access (database management)

  • Publisher (small-business document publishing)

  • Teams (communication and collaboration, now available as a separate installation).

The applications are installed and run locally on-premises. Microsoft regularly updates the software, and organizations can choose among multiple servicing channels for devices running the suite. (See accompanying chart.)
