Charts & IllustrationsComparing Intune MDM and Classic Management
Managing Windows PCs through mobile device management (MDM) treats the PC as just another mobile device, regardless of the form factor of that device.
Shown here is a comparison of the kinds of devices that can be managed through the new MDM and the old “classic” infrastructure, and the key limitations that exist with the two management models. Customers deploying Intune today should be working with MDM-based management of Windows, rather than the classic Intune client-based management approach, because Microsoft will likely deprecate and retire the classic approach as Windows 7 leaves Extended support.
