Charts & IllustrationsDelve User Profile Site
Delve features deliver personally targeted documents and other information on Office 365 user profile sites. The intent is to help users quickly discover people and documents of interest. Office 365 user profile sites are automatically provisioned for each user, providing a standard way for the user and the organization to publish contact information, organization, interests, expertise, and other information about the user. They are descended from SharePoint Online My Sites and are variously labeled About Me, Me, and the “people experience.”
Shown here is the Activity page of a user profile site with Delve features, viewed by the user associated with the site. At right, the Delve feed displays previews of four documents from the user’s OneDrive for Business site. Delve chooses documents based on recent user activity and other “signals” stored in the Office Graph service. Each document has a card summary with information about the source and recent activity for the document and action links, such as the Favorites (star) icon, which enables a user to capture a link to the document in a personal Favorites list stored online. Displays are security-trimmed, so the user only sees documents that are accessible based on security permissions.
