Duet Enterprise extends SharePoint Server and NetWeaver to enable SharePoint clients to access SAP application data. Shown here are the major components of a Duet Enterprise system.

The Duet Enterprise SharePoint add-on runs on SharePoint Server 2010. The SharePoint add-on includes a reporting component that allows SharePoint users to generate SAP reports or subscribe to them on a scheduled basis; a set of SharePoint site templates, Web Parts, components that enable SharePoint users to view and update data such as customer lists in SAP applications; and a workflow component that enables SharePoint users to approve or reject steps in SAP workflows (for example, approving payment of an invoice). The SharePoint add-on also includes security integration components that allow SharePoint users to access SAP application data without logging in to SAP separately and limit access to SAP reports and other SAP data in SharePoint based on the user’s SAP role (security group) memberships. SharePoint users can access all Duet Enterprise capabilities in a browser, but can also use Office 2010 Professional Plus applications such as Outlook to simplify data access and work with some data offline.
