Exchange Online services deliver most messaging and collaboration capabilities of Exchange Server 2010. Shown here are the differences in capabilities between the Exchange Online multitenant service included in Office 365, the Exchange Online dedicated service (in which Microsoft hosts Exchange Server on hardware dedicated to a customer), and the Exchange Server 2010 software installed on-premises.

The Exchange Online multitenant and dedicated services are very similar; the most notable differences in capabilities are the limits to the number of recipients Exchange Online multitenant users can send to per day and per message.
