Seven critical and three important updates were issued in Feb. 2005. Most of the vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to take control of an unpatched computer. MS05-009, which affects the MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger clients, requires users to download an updated version of the MSN Messenger to continue to access Microsoft’s public instant messaging (IM) service.
