Customers running SharePoint 2007 should consider migration. Shown here are important upcoming dates for recent versions of SharePoint Server (which has also been called SharePoint Portal Server).

Hotfixes or other support for SharePoint Server 2007 will require a paid support contract after Mainstream support concludes in early 2012. Consequently, organizations running it may want to consider their migration path.

Customers running SharePoint 2010 have until July 2012 to upgrade their servers to SharePoint SP1 in order to continue receiving support.

PerformancePoint Server, once a separate product, was largely replaced by functionality included in SharePoint Server 2010. Customers who had active Software Assurance on PerformancePoint Server as of Apr. 1, 2009, can convert covered licenses to SharePoint licenses under a formula described in the company’s volume licensing product list.
