Charts & IllustrationsJuly 2004 Update Summary
Two critical and four important updates were issued in the July 2004 security posting. Note that some updates patch multiple vulnerabilities that affect the same files. Note also that the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) patch detection tool cannot detect the presence of some vulnerabilities and whether they have been patched. Finally, some updates change previous Windows functionality to increase security, which means some applications will not work after the updates are applied.
