Outlook-based e-mail solutions require Exchange and Windows Server CALs for each client, and server licenses for each server. Customers who purchase Exchange Server 2003 will get the Standard Edition of Outlook 2003 with it; customers who want Outlook 2003 with earlier versions of Exchange can purchase Outlook 2003 Professional Edition stand-alone (as shown here) or purchase any of the Office 2003 suite editions. To protect messages with Windows Rights Management Services (RMS), customers require Outlook 2003 Professional Edition, which they can purchase stand-alone or with the Office 2003 Professional and Professional Enterprise suites. Note that Exchange Server 2003 ships with the standard edition of Outlook 2003, which cannot create protected messages with RMS, although it can view such messages.
