Office 2003 will be available in a wider variety of bundles than previous versions. The top chart shows how various components of the Office System will be combined into bundles, and the channels through which they will be available. The lower chart shows the channels through which standalone versions of both professional and standard versions of the software will be available. A “P” indicates a professional version of the software. An “S” indicates a “standard” version (used here for clarity; Microsoft does not use the term officially to refer to non-Professional versions). “VL” indicates that a product or bundle is available through volume licensing. Academic “FPP” refers to “full packaged products” (e.g., shrink-wrap boxes) sold though schools, student bookstores, and other official academic channels.
