Office 365 will introduce new service plans for Microsoft-hosted services for businesses. Shown here are four plans for large organizations and some of the capabilities they include. Prices are per user, per month, before any volume discounts.

The plan E1 corresponds to today’s Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS), and current BPOS customers will eventually be migrated to this plan. Among other functions, it will offer Exchange e-mail and scheduling; Lync instant messaging (IM), presence, and Web conferencing; and SharePoint sites (including external-facing sites and personal Web sites) and content management. E2 will add the new Office Web Apps, which enable viewing and limited editing of Office documents in a browser.

E3 will add advanced Exchange and SharePoint capabilities, such as voice mail and better e-mail archiving in Exchange and forms processing features and Web-based reporting components (such as Excel Services and Visio Services) in SharePoint. E3 also includes a subscription license to the desktop Office Professional Plus suite. E4 will add what Microsoft calls Lync Enterprise Voice features, which include the ability to handle calls with conventional telephones. However, Enterprise Voice features will not be available at the mid-2011 launch of Office 365.
