Customers with Software Assurance (SA) on Office suites may upgrade at no cost to successor versions. SA upgrade paths to Office 2010 suites from the two previous versions are shown here.

Customers with active SA on Office suites as of Apr. 1, 2010 can upgrade at no cost to corresponding Office 2010 suites. Customers with SA on Office Standard may upgrade to Office 2010 Standard, gaining rights to two applications (Publisher and OneNote) that weren’t in earlier versions of Office Standard as well as the right to use the Office Web Apps components of SharePoint. Customers with SA on Office Professional Plus or Office Enterprise (a suite discontinued for Office 2010) are entitled to Office 2010 Professional Plus. Office 2010 Professional Plus includes all the applications previously included with Office 2007 Enterprise, although some names have changed. However, customers may not downgrade from Office 2010 Professional Plus to Office 2007 Enterprise without special permission from Microsoft.
