Several communications products leave Mainstream support in Jan. 2013. In particular, Communications Server 2007, Communications Server 2007 R2, and their corresponding Communicator client versions all leave Mainstream support on Jan. 8, 2013. (Communications Server was renamed Lync Server beginning with the 2010 version in Nov. 2010.)

Note that Communications Server 2007 is not supported on Windows Server 2008 or later and is not supported on 64-bit OSs. Communications Server 2007 R2, in contrast, requires a 64-bit edition of Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server 2008 R2.
