  • Power BI mobile clients have a redesigned layout to help users locate content and receive notifications.
  • The redesigned clients can benefit remote users, such as traveling executives tracking business performance.
  • The new home screen is on by default with no option to select the previous layout, so some users might need help with the change.
  • Future plans include support for viewing SQL Server Reporting Services paginated reports.

Power BI is a set of Microsoft’s business intelligence (BI) technologies that includes several tightly integrated applications and Microsoft-hosted components. Power BI mobile clients enable viewing of reports, including filtering and drill-down, on phones and tablets. They lack the ability to create and publish reports and are for users who need access to Power BI information while working remotely. For example, executives and managers who are traveling might use them to review daily performance metrics, and remote sales staff might use them to access team quotas and sales goals. The mobile clients are available for Android and Apple devices and work with the Power BI hosted service and the Power BI Report Server software on-premises.
