Term What It Is
Canvas application An application that is built in PowerApps by dragging and dropping elements onto a design canvas, usually without writing code.
Common Data Service A service that provides business applications with the ability to perform data operations on stored data, which is stored in units called entities.
Connector An object (similar to a custom control) that allows PowerApps or Flow to connect to business data from Microsoft storage (such as SharePoint Online lists) or external vendors (such as Twitter feeds). Connectors can be standard (connecting to sources within Microsoft 365), premium (which connects to external services like DocuSign), custom (created within an organization), or on-premises (which uses a gateway to connect to on-premises data like SQL Server).
Entity A set of records used to store data in a set format, such as Contact or Purchase Order.
