Microsoft divides its business into the following seven areas:

Client consists of Windows desktop clients.

Information Worker consists of Office and other business productivity software, including SharePoint Portal Server and Project.

Server Platforms includes Windows Server, most other server applications (including SQL Server, Exchange Server, and e-commerce servers), development tools, and corporate services like consulting and support.

Home and Entertainment includes Xbox, interactive TV platforms, and consumer software.

MSN includes all MSN services and sites.

Business Solutions includes all Great Plains, Solomon, Navision, and Axapta applications, and other business management software, such as Microsoft CRM.

Mobility and Embedded includes Windows CE and the platforms based on it, plus other embedded OSs.

For each business area, this chart shows its business leader, chief financial officer, estimated and actual revenues in FY’03, and estimated revenues for FY’04. Estimated FY’03 revenues are based on comments at the 2002 Financial Analyst Meeting. Estimated FY’04 revenues are based on comments from the Q4’03 earnings call and the 2003 Financial Analyst Meeting.
