Microsoft has released the following life-cycle timeline for Windows NT 4. The timeline includes some dates for Windows NT 3.51 as well.

Date Server Retirement Event
October 1, 2001 Windows NT Server 4.0 Standard and Enterprise Editions are no longer available through Microsoft volume licensing programs. Volume licensing customers can still exercise “downgrade” rights by acquiring current server licenses through volume licensing and then downgrading to Windows NT Server 4.0.
July 1, 2002 Windows NT Server 4.0 Standard and Enterprise Editions, full packaged product (FPP), will no longer be available in the resale channel, and Standard, Enterprise, and Terminal Server Editions will no longer be available through the Direct OEM channel.
January 1, 2003 Customers requesting hotfixes for Windows NT 4 Server (all editions) will be charged a fee. Pay-per-incident support and Premier support will no longer be available for Windows NT Server 3.51.
