Point-in-time restore, a feature included in Windows 365 Enterprise, provides three restore point options for Cloud PCs, each with their own intervals and retention levels. This chart summaries the capabilities of long-term, short-term, and manual restore points and the scenarios in which they might be used.

Point-in-time restore takes snapshots of Windows 365 Enterprise Cloud PCs called restore points that can be used to restore a Cloud PC to a known good state after events such as data deletion, a failed update, or a malware attack. Restore points recover the entire Cloud PC and do not offer per-file recovery—organizations should use point-in-time restore alongside capabilities such as OneDrive for Business to provide more granular protection for user data. If enabled by administrators, Cloud PC users can review available restore points and restore their own Cloud PCs from the Windows 365 client interface. Point-in-time restore is included with all Windows 365 Enterprise Cloud PC subscriptions at no additional cost and offers the following restore point options:
