An 85-inch Surface Hub 2S model can be pre-ordered by U.S. customers and is planned to become available in Jan. 2021. Surface Hub devices are stand-alone conferencing and remote collaboration systems intended for use with Microsoft Teams.

Compared to the existing 50-inch Surface Hub 2S, the 85-inch model may be more suitable for larger conference rooms or meeting spaces. Other than the larger screen, the 85-inch Surface Hub 2S (US$21,999) offers the same technical specifications as the 50-inch model, including an integrated full PC, a 4K display and 4K video conferencing camera, stereo speakers, an 8-element microphone array, and a Surface Hub 2 Pen for pen input directly on the Surface Hub 2S screen.

Like the first-generation Surface Hub, Surface Hub 2S runs the Windows 10 Team OS, a special edition of Windows 10 that includes applications like Teams for Surface Hub, Skype for Business, and Microsoft Whiteboard, but can only install applications from the Microsoft Store. Windows 10 Team 2020 Update, the latest OS version, is planned for availability in Oct. 2020 and includes enhancements for single sign-on, conditional access, password-free sign-on, and mobile device management policies. Additionally, a configuration of Surface Hub 2S with Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise editions is now generally available, allowing customers to install any Windows application (including Win32 applications), use any Windows 10 compatible USB device, and configure a Surface Hub 2S device as a kiosk, as well as other capabilities of those OS editions.
