The Enterprise Azure portal provides user interfaces for enterprise customers, partners, and Managed Service Providers to manage Azure subscriptions and administrator access and view Azure billing details. The Enterprise Azure portal, which is separate from the more commonly used administrative Azure portal, can help central IT departments maintain oversight of Azure usage across an organization. However, Microsoft account usage and independently created Azure subscriptions can cause difficulties.

Hierarchy Organizes Azure Usage

The Enterprise Azure portal is available to customers with Enterprise Agreements, to Azure partner resellers (which can offer Azure to end customers indirectly from Microsoft), and to Managed Service Providers. Customers and partners log on to the Enterprise Azure portal using Azure Active Directory (AAD, also called “Work or school”) accounts or Microsoft accounts that have been granted administrator permissions.

An Azure enterprise customer typically maintains a single Azure enterprise enrollment, which is the top-tier element of a customer-defined hierarchy used to manage Azure deployments throughout an organization. (For an illustration, see “Azure Enterprise Hierarchy Examples“.)
