Analyst ReportAzure ATP Brings Licensing Changes
- Azure Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) is a hosted service designed to help organizations discover suspicious activities within their network.
- Azure ATP must be licensed for all users on the customer’s network
- Azure ATP is likely to replace the Advanced Threat Analytics software over time and will cost more.
Azure Advanced Threat Protection (Azure ATP), which became available in Mar. 2018, is a Microsoft-hosted service that captures, parses, and analyzes traffic of key unencrypted network protocols. It examines authentication, authorization, and other activities for indicators of potentially suspicious behavior by a user or on a device within an organization. Azure ATP is more capable than the on-premises software it will eventually replace, but it will also cost more in most cases.
Azure Advanced Threat Protection Overview
Azure ATP offers the functionality delivered by Advanced Threat Analytics (ATA) on-premises, but as a hosted service. Like ATA, Azure ATP analyzes data from Windows Server Active Directory domain controllers, Windows Server infrastructure services, and third-party hardware to detect signs of security breaches.
