Two updates to Windows Intune, Microsoft’s online subscription service for managing clients, allow better management of e-mail profiles on mobile devices and of Internet Explorer (IE) for Windows clients. Intune supports management of devices running Apple’s new iOS 8 and can manage additional features introduced with that OS. The updates will help enterprises control access to corporate resources and applications.

Managing E-Mail Profiles and IE Configuration

Windows Intune is a set of Microsoft-hosted online services that provides antimalware, hardware and software inventories, health monitoring, software updating, and policy management. It allows organizations to manage PCs and mobile devices using online services hosted in Microsoft data centers rather than deploying an on-premises management and security infrastructure, but organizations can also use the service from the System Center Configuration Manager console. Since its original release in 2011, Intune has been updated several times with increasing emphasis on managing mobile devices.
