Four upcoming technologies that Microsoft calls “platform bridges” aim to ease the conversion of applications developed for other platforms to run as Windows 10 Universal applications. The bridges differ by the tools and methods used for the initial conversion to a Windows 10 Universal application and its ongoing maintenance and the programming languages used by the original applications. The bridge for Android applications can only produce applications that run on Windows 10 Mobile edition, but the other bridges produce applications that run on all Windows 10 editions.
