  • Two Microsoft-hosted online storefronts, AppSource and Azure Marketplace, allow third parties to market products and services that extend Azure, Office 365, and Dynamics 365.
  • The virtual storefronts help customers find offerings that could improve Microsoft cloud services.
  • Organizations should ensure permissions are set to allow only the appropriate internal users to acquire offerings from the storefronts.

AppSource and Azure Marketplace appear similar but target different audiences. AppSource targets business users working with Office 365, Dynamics 365, Power BI, and PowerApps. Azure Marketplace targets IT staff and developers working with Azure. Organizations could benefit by exploring offerings published on the storefronts, many of which can be evaluated with no charge. Publishers, such as ISVs, could use the storefronts for new marketing opportunities.
