Analyst ReportDynamics 365 ERP Roadmap, Globalizations and Planning
- Dynamics 365 Finance + Operations plans include more than the usual user-productivity updates and the ever-present Copilot.
- Key plans, designed for large customers, will bring advanced planning (with new licenses), and support for more countries and third-party solutions.
- Human Resources, the one outlier, is still consumed with its consolidation project, but new features are planned for later this year.
- On-premises also receives attention with simplified administration that reduces the number of on-premises updates.
Dynamics 365 Finance + Operations application updates are now primarily focused on user productivity improvements with fewer Copilot and analytic features than 2023, as it appears the Copilot hype for Dynamics is calming down. Instead, Microsoft is focusing on new planning capabilities that require more expensive Premium licenses. There is also a noticeable increase in the number of new and expanded APIs designed to integrate external vendors into Finance + Operations data. Some changes address gaps in the service, such as payroll, while others like global taxation APIs should help Dynamics 365 enter more countries.
