Dynamics 365 Field Service adds a lower-cost subscription, called Field Service Contractor, which provides essential work order management features that could make the service more attractive for organizations using external contractors. Field Service Contractor is almost half the price of a full Field Service subscription (US$50 per month compared to US$90 per month). It provides a limited subset of features and is designed for non-employees who perform work order activities for the organization. For example, a company that supplies and services vending machines could use the new Field Service Contractor license for an external refrigeration technician who repairs machines for the company. Field Service Contractor users have access to the Field Service mobile and Teams applications, but not the Outlook plugins nor the Dynamics 365 applications for iPad and Windows. Users can manage their own resources, schedules, and quotes and can update work orders assigned to them. They can view all Field Service data but cannot create or update accounts, shared calendars, invoices, products, purchase orders, or other items. Dynamics 365 Field Service licensing is covered in the Licensing Reference Set at https://www.directionsonmicrosoft.com/members/licensing/dynamics-365-field-service.
