Analyst ReportDynamics CRM Online Migration to Dynamics 365 Packaging
Dynamics 365 is a new set of subscription plans that replace and rebrand Microsoft-hosted Dynamics CRM customer relationship management (CRM) and Dynamics AX enterprise resource planning (ERP) offerings. The new subscriptions allow customers to choose individual applications, such as customer service, or plans that include multiple applications. The packaging changes impact all customers, and determining when to migrate to the new packaging may provide some cost savings. However, comparing the cost of the new packaging to the old packaging is not simple, and many organizations will see a cost increase. This report discusses the changes to Dynamics CRM Online services only.
Old Rule: CRM Functions Licensed via CRM Online
Dynamics CRM Online is an online service that delivers CRM, marketing, sales, and service capabilities. The service was licensed based on a combination of User Subscription Licenses (User SLs), add-on services, additional compute and storage capacity for the tenancy, and service support fees that included levels of technical break-fix and functional support.
