Dynamics CRM Server 2016 SP1 delivers new functionality and bug fixes and deprecates several important customization features customers may have used that may require application modifications before the features are removed. Customers will need to apply the service pack by July 10, 2018, to continue receiving support.

New Functionality and Fixes

The on-premises release coincides with an update to CRM Online, the Microsoft-hosted version of Dynamics CRM, which received a significant number of new features. Many of those features will eventually be released to CRM on-premises, probably around the end of 2016; however, new functionality in SP1 is limited to the following:

Service level tracking, previously limited to customer cases, is now available for all entities in CRM, which should help managers track and report on efforts to complete functions within the product.

Customizable service agent screens in the Interactive Service Hub enable inclusion of multiple components on a single screen (including dashboards with streaming data and charts of activities and service cases) to help service agents optimize and prioritize their work processes.
