Analyst ReportDynamics GP Update, CRM Adapter
SP4 for Dynamics GP 10, which shipped in Sept. 2009, delivers improvements for forms design and electronic payments. Dynamics GP 10 is the latest version of the Microsoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) product for firms in the Americas of up to about 5,000 employees. A new adapter for Dynamics CRM 4.0, also released in Sept. 2009, enables Dynamics GP 10 customers to synchronize customers, orders, and other information between GP and Microsoft’s customer relationship management product. Both improved forms design and the adapter could interest partners building industry-specific solutions on GP or extending existing GP installations.
New Forms Designer and Payment Changes
SP4’s most notable new feature is a substantially improved version of the Extender, which helps partners customize GP to handle data entry for specific businesses and processes (e.g., patient data entry) that aren’t covered out of the box. Like previous versions of the Extender, the new version was produced for Microsoft by eOne Integrated Business Solutions, which continues to market its own edition of the Extender with additional features (such as the ability to run custom business logic inside forms).
