Expression Studio 2, the latest version of Microsoft’s graphic design suite, adds support for Silverlight, Microsoft’s preferred technology for Web animation and video. The suite helps digital artists, Web designers, photographers, and other graphics professionals build digital content for the Web and for Windows application user interfaces. The latest version of the suite includes many improvements apart from Silverlight support, including features that support Web standards and competitive product formats. Expression Studio 2 will be an interesting upgrade for current users, but the suite will have to undergo another major upgrade soon to catch up to the fast-evolving Silverlight technology.

Tools for Microsoft-Friendly Graphic Design

Expression Studio is a suite of tools for graphic design, including Web design. With Expression Studio 2, the major constituents of the suite are as follows:

  • Expression Web for designing Web sites and pages
