FRx Forecaster Improves Budgeting Process

Updates to FRx Forecaster help companies more accurately model employee pay information, improving human resource budgeting. Additionally, Forecaster 6.7 links better to data in general ledger systems such as Great Plains, Solomon and non-Microsoft products like mySAP Financials, making it easier for financial planners to establish baseline budgets. The new release of Forecaster, however, still does not connect to Navision or Axapta general ledgers.

Better Support for Human Resource Data

FRx Forecaster, acquired by Great Plains in its Feb. 2000 purchase of FRx Software, is a Web-based tool for creating, populating, and tracking budgets. It provides a central location at which financial planners and workers in other departments can access and update budgets, obviating the error-prone and time-consuming process of maintaining and consolidating spreadsheet-based budgets. With Forecaster, financial planners can create budget baselines that follow the accounting structure of their company’s general ledger system and import actuals from those systems to populate budgets.
